[Danny]

Shocked, Anau released his grip and staggered back. He retrieved the humans blade and dropped it. Now enraged, he pointed his sword and lunged.

Crack

Charlie had missed the killshot, but a piece of Anau's face tore off as the round skimmed by. With a horrified growl, Anau retreated into the shadows.

Her arm dropped to the floor, releasing the pistol, and slumped back against the wall.

Daemon dropped to the floor, laying on his back. "Oh good, you're alive." He wheezed, laughing weakly. "I was beginning to think you gave up." There was a pause, which raised his concerns. "Wait, you're not actually dead, are you? That'd be terrible."

Charlie's arm twitched and began to slowly rise from the floor. Clearly weakened, she used what may have been the last of her strength to turn over her wrist, and stick up a certain finger.

"Aha... That's my girl." He patted her thigh, leaving his arm to rest there. The sound of thundering combat boots echoed through the engine room-- Verve hailed him on comms, but he didn't answer. He felt tired, but assured. Because if there was anything you shouldn't do... It's fight a Sangheili in hand-to-hand combat.
