Probably shouldn't be a major planet we crash on. Kind of hard to be stranded in a heavily populated place where it's relatively easy to find help. Tongue

Otherwise, sounds great. Smiley

Hmm. What if while we're on Pavelin (or random planet), we need to do jobs for parts to repair our ship, rather than let out a distress call?

Alright so what does thread 5 look like now?

Guide this one, Kalahira,
And he will be a companion to you as he was to me.

Maybe something like this?

  • Thread five
  • Merc/milli vessel has just picked up supplies from Omega and passed through a relay to some system
  • BOOM CERBERUS AMBUSH
  • Some of the Cerberus characters that were brought aboard give away the ships position allowing it to be ambushed
  • Cerberus cruiser damages the ship and forces it to make an emergency landing on a Batarian colony (critical part of the ship is damaged, and it can't fly anymore until it gets repaired)
  • Who exactly of the ex-Cerberus characters betrayed them are unknown
  • Milli/merc characters hide out on Batarian colony planet in the Traverse while Cerberus forces land to find them and kill them due to their toubles
  • Have to repair ship, so characters do an assortment of jobs and tasks to pay for the parts they need
  • Meanwhile, Cerberus are being mean to the Batarians
  • Cerberus are getting closer to finding the milli/mercs
  • Parts are acquired and Batarians cover their escape
  • Cerberus kill all the Batarians
  • Milli/Merc characters escape but with epic amounts of guilt
  • Next thread will be closer to Mass Effect 2

Just so that you all know, the Locust's defect is a reference to ME2, where I used the Locust for a bit. The gun's iron-sight piece always took more time than any other part of the gun to pop up and ready, to the point where I could already be cappin' fools and then hear the techno-sound as that particular SMG part unfolded.

Never noticed, that. And I use it all the time. Tongue
Even if there is a delay, I can draw it and kill someone with it faster than I can with any other SMG. Landing more hits faster is what really counts, and that gun is deadly accurate.

Indi, you may not wanna use it in ME3 - apparently the Locust has zero muzzle climb, same accuracy, same stats - except for its damage, which has been nerfed so badly that it can't kill a Cerberus Assault Trooper in one magazine.

Which reminds me: can I use the ME2 Locust instead of the ME3 one? I like that SMG to hit hard, mid-speed-ish, and accurately, like the spacefuture's UMP .45.

I don't know where you heard that. It works superbly in ME3. silly
The shotguns got nerfed though.

Indi: I'm not saying the Locust is accurate. I'm not saying that it has heavy recoil. I'm saying that it probably has the lowest damage output of any weapon in the game.

And then you take a look at the N7 Hurricane and you wonder "...what in the crap?" It fires fast enough that ME3 can't keep up with its rate of fire.

The damage is fine, maybe not as much as ME2, but it's more than enough. Tongue
It may do less damage per round than the other SMGs, but I can get more rounds on target, so I still end up dealing more damage with it than any of the others.
I've tried several other SMGs, in 3, and the Locust is still the best.

I don't care about damage or rate of fire so much, accuracy is where it counts. If you can't hit your target, a weapon is useless, no matter how much damage it could do.

"Hyperion asks, 'what good is a gun that doesn't shoot where you point?' Get a gun that's as accurate as you are!"

Relevant.

Here's what I was thinking for what's next:

1. Scarlet and Quintilus go through the data, discovers the strange readings recorded from under the base. There was definitely more to that base the soldiers/scientists let on.
1.5. (Maybe Scarlet really wants to go back there for the really valuable loot, so she rushes everyone back to the Citadel- but then she reads on)
2. Phsyc reports reveal the scientists were being affected by certain artefacts; but no detail how (in the second half of the data)
3. Quintilus reads further, and it's revealed that a scientist suggests these artefacts may be evidence of Commander Shepard's 'Reaper' claim. The artefacts date back 50,000 years or further
4. Quintilus finds out more and decides this information has to get into Turian/Alliance hands.
5. Arrive at the Citadel to find it under Geth assault. Some of the scientists start acting strange and distraught.
6. It reflects the reports.
7. It's possible the giant Geth dreadnought is a Reaper.
8. Now imperative the data get to Turian/Alliance command.
9. Informed by Alliance, Geth troops are pounding on the door of a joint Turian/Human research centre on the Citadel. (their employers)
10. Soldiers land on the Citadel and fight inside to deliver the data. Mercs have the option to join them.

Then next thread. Thoughts?

Great. How are we going to go about revealing all this though?
Quintilus has already read some, but only enough to know it's a very advanced ancient ship. She's still assuming it's another Prothean relic, albeit a potentially revolutionary one.
