@Indi: I'm aware of what the weapons are.
@Sev: You can get them from mods. In third-person they look really crappy, but Valve did improve the first-person views.

I figured the default weapons would keep things a bit simpler, mostly because it's fairly easy to see how they're distributed through the levels. I dunno how we'd go about placing the German guns.

@Sparty: Just trying to be helpful. It probably would just be complicated to try to add in weapons that most of us aren't familiar with. I'd rather to stick with the guns I'm used to.

In my opinion- if we're in like, America, you aren't gonna find something like a Steyr AUG. I highly doubt that the Australian armed forces would be their. However- guns like the AK or M16 are standard there.

@Mitch: Actually... I think you'd have a pretty good chance of finding an SG 552 or an MP5 in America. The other bolt-actions... rare, if they even exist there at all.

I was trying to make an example. I never said or cared that would want it.

As far as I know, in America it is possible to find and buy any gun in existence provided you have the right permits. Though some are rarer than others.
The concern is with weapon placement, what tiers weapons would be in, etc. we're trying to stick with only the weapons the games give us to avoid making things complicated.

Besides the fact that you've said that exact thing to me before, your example was awfully specific.

Yes- exactly. But I repeat- I don't give a fuck if you wanted it or not. I only remembered that you said it was the standard rifle for the Australian military.

I haz to agree with Sev - the argument is quite pointless. Let's just include all the weapons we've seen in Left 4 Dead and L4D2 and just leave it at that.
